From the MJS News Wire….I guess Belling is talking about it, too.
Man sentenced for damaging football field
An 18-year old Milwaukee man found guilty of driving wildly on Brookfield East High School’s football field a year ago and rendering it unplayable was sentenced to three years of probation today.
Mitchell R. Timm pleaded guilty to felony criminal damage to property in Waukesha County Circuit Court in relation to the August 2007 incident that destroyed the field days before the team’s season opener.
Reserve Judge Neal Nettesheim, filling in for Waukesha County Circuit Judge Mark Gempeler, ordered the probation to begin once Timm completes another sentence in Milwaukee County.
In Milwaukee County, Timm is serving three years in prison and three years of extended supervision after pleading guilty on Aug. 12 to escaping criminal arrest and driving a vehicle without consent, according to court records. The Waukesha and Milwaukee county incidents are unrelated.
District Attorney Brad Schimel said Timm was someone who had gotten himself into a large amount of trouble in a short amount of time. Before the Brookfield incident, he had no criminal record.
“His future is an unknown,” Schimel said. “We’re going to need to monitor him for quite awhile.”
For the damage to the football field, Schimel said school officials are seeking as much as $28,000 in restitution, or $13,000 in landscaping costs and $15,000 in busing costs and lost concession stand revenue.
A couple of points….Shimel…you’re an idiot for accepting this plea. No jail time? No restitution? Way to go Brad, you’re a real law and order guy. Maybe we can get a real DA in the next election.
As for the judge, this is part of the reserve judge scam in Wisconsin. Nettesheim is living proof of that. Can’t vote the guy out, can’t recall him from the bench, either.
