Ed Koch, the former mayor of New York City has a little piece in Real Clear Politics in which he talks about former presidents. Here’s his take on Jimmy Carter, the buttboy for terrorists.

Ford lost to Jimmy Carter. I came to know Carter well.

When he ran for reelection, he asked me to campaign for him in 1980 - I was by then Mayor of New York City — and I said that I would vote for him, but not campaign for him because he was then engaging in hostile acts towards Israel. I was popular with the Jewish community and when I would not campaign for him unless he changed his position, he called me to his hotel in New York when attending a fundraiser and said, “You have done me more damage than any man in America.” I felt proud then, and even more today, since we now know what a miserable president he was then and the miserable human being he is now as he prepares to meet with Hamas.

I fully agree with Ed Koch when it comes to Jimmy Carter, the buttboy for terrorists.

A Team of Idiots

The boys over at Power Line Blog point out some interesting things about Obama’s foreign policy advisers. It looks like the appeasement movement is alive and well in the Obama camp.

In addition to Zbigniew Brzezinski (a demonstrated failure under Carter) Obama has also tapped a certain Susan Rice, who played a major role in the decision to refuse Sudan’s offer to turn over Bin-Laden during the Clinton Presidency.

If Obama is the one calling for change and a new way of doing things in Washington, why is he using the same failed party hacks on what is arguably his most important advisory committee?

Seems like there is nothing like a little Sharia law to keep your spirits up.

KHARTOUM, Sudan (AP) — Sudan charged a British teacher Wednesday with inciting religious hatred after she allowed her students to name a teddy bear Muhammad, an offense that could subject her to 40 lashes, the country’s official news agency reported.

The teacher, Gillian Gibbons, was arrested after one of her pupils’ parents complained, accusing her of naming the bear after Islam’s Prophet Muhammad.

This little nugget shows the intolerance and ignorance of Sharia law. The STUDENTS voted to name the teddy bear Muhammad.

Officials at the school say she was teaching her 7-year-old students about animals and asked one of them to bring in her teddy bear. Gibbons then asked the students to pick names for the bear and in the end, they voted to name it Muhammad, school officials say.

So, according to this stupidity, shouldn’t the students also be punished? What about all Muslims who have the first name of “Muhammad”? What about the clerics of the mosques the students and their parents attend for not teaching the children that they were insulting Islam?

Personally, I think the members of the Ulemas should sit down with a few beers and a bag of pork rinds and chill out.

Taliban in The Venezuelan Government

Last week, students in Venezuela marched and protested Chavez’s plan to make himself dictator for life. Naturally, the riot police responded in typical Chavez fashion and some students got shot.

Now, the riot police are under the control, as reported in the above Yahoo! news article of a certain Deputy Justice Minister Tarek El Aissami. Kind of an odd name for a Latino, no? Well, guess what, Aissami is a real piece of work. You can read more about him here, on the SultanKnish blog.

In his early thirties Tarik El-Assimi is one of the younger men to have held such a post. His father Carlos el-Aissami headed the Venezuelan branch of the Baath Party, while his great-uncle Shibli el-Aissami was a close Saddam ally and served as assistant to the Secretary General of the Baath Party.

Before the invasion of Iraq, Carlos El-Aissami held a press conference in which he described himself as a Taliban and called Osama Bin Laden, “the great Mujahedeen, Sheik Osama bin Laden”. The son, Tareck el-Aissimi who headed up Venezuela’s visa department and now serves as deputy justice minister, began as student union leader supervising drug dealing and a car theft ring, while intimidating his rivals. He maintained links to terrorist organizations. With the rise of Chavez, Tariq El-Aissimi’s rise began as well.

While the press insisting on talking about Chavez’s “reforms”, the simple reality is that Chavez is suppressing opposition and positioning himself as a dictator for life. He is backed in this effort not only by the usual left wing and marxist allies in America and Europe, but by Arab and Muslim terrorist regimes, including Saddam Hussein’s former Iraq and Iran.

When discussing South America, one of the most understated topics is the extent to which Arab terrorist networks have developed a foothold from Mexico to Uruguay. Lebanese, Syrian and Palestinian Arab immigrants have infiltrated the economic, business and political lives of South American nations spawning crime rings, drug smuggling and political corruption. The bombing of the AMIA Jewish center in Argentina would not have been possible without the complicity of Argentina’s Syrian immigrant President Carlos Menem.

The simple list of Arab South American Presidents is startling in and of itself. These include Abdalá Bucaram, the Arab President of Ecuador. Antonio Saca, the current Palestinian Arab President of Ecuador. Jacobo Majluta, the former Lebanese Arab President of the Dominican Republic. Jamil Mahuad, the former Lebanese Arab President of El Salvador. Carlos Menem, the former Syrian Arab President of Argentina. Said Musa, the current Palestinian Arab Prime Minister of Belize. Edward Seaga, the former Lebanese Arab Prime Minister of Jamaica. Julio Cesar Turbay, the former Lebanese Arab President of Colombia. Carlos Flores Facusse, the Palestinian Arab former President of Honduras.

While much is written about the Arab and Muslim takeover of Europe, the Arab and Muslim domination in Latin America tends to be ignored except by those who live there. Within half a century South American nations who were often allies of the United States and Israel have become increasingly hostile, unstable and corrupt and the behind the scenes work of the Arab diaspora into Latin America has played a major role.

When you think of large scale Muslim immigration population explosions, most people think of Europe. But Venezuela where Chavez now rules and where Tariq el-aissimi is crushing student protesters has as many as one million Muslims. There are as many as three quarters of a million Muslims in Argentina. While we often look west as Islam grows across Europe, it can also be instructive to look South from time to time because the enemy is nearer than we think.

Frankly, this is pretty scary stuff.

PATTANI, Thailand: Police in insurgency-wracked southern Thailand said Tuesday that mobile phones seized from an attack site contain video clips showing suspected insurgents beheading their victims and in one case, cutting off a soldier’s sex organ.

Investigators found two mobile phones in a bag left behind in an area of Yala province where suspected insurgents killed a police officer over the weekend, said police Col. Sompien Eksomya from Yala’s Bannang Star district, where the attack occurred.

“We sent the SIM cards to be checked out and found gruesome video clips,” he said by telephone.

One video clip taken Jan. 2, 2006 showed a suspected insurgent beheading a soldier, then severing his penis and laughing with the person taking the video, Sompien said.

The second clip was made on May 14 of this year, showing the beheading of a Buddhist man after he and his wife were shot. A third video clip filmed June 15 shows the bullet-ridden bodies of seven soldiers.

Sompien said that police were searching for the men seen in the videos.

More than 2,400 people have been killed in the Muslim-majority southernmost provinces of Yala, Pattani and Narathiwat since a long-simmering Islamic separatist insurgency flared up in January 2004. At least 29 Buddhists have been beheaded in the past three years.

Yep, the religion of peace.

Osama Just Needed a Hug

If you think Jim “Pol Pot” Doyle is an idiot, consider this: You could live in Massachusetts and have Deval Patrick as your governor. Here’s what this hoople had to say regarding 9/11.

“Among many other things, 9/11 was a failure of human understanding,” Patrick said. “It was a mean and nasty and bitter attack on the United States. But it was also a failure of human beings to understand each other, to learn to love each other.”

That’s right guv….just give them a hug and everything will be OK. What a maroon! (as Bugs Bunny would say.)

We couldn’t help but be struck by the contrast between Patrick’s remarks and those of Sen. Joseph Lieberman, who in an oped in yesterday’s National Review On-Line correctly noted the “barbarism” of Islamic extremism and those who would target innocents to further their misguided cause.

“Our cause is the cause of defending liberty and freedom against a totalitarian movement that is the evil heir to the twin totalitarian threats of the 20th century,” wrote Lieberman, the Independent-Democrat from Connecticut. “Islamic extremism, like fascism and communism, seeks to eliminate all of the ideals that free peoples cherish.”

This isn’t just fretting over semantics. It speaks to a real misunderstanding of how Americans view the evil we confronted on that cataclysmic day, in the person of the hijackers and the masterminds behind the attacks.

We needn’t be blinded by rage. But neither is this anniversary a time for mealy-mouthed concessions to a lack of “human understanding.” If that is the prism through which our political leaders view the 9/11 attacks and the continuing threat we face, heaven help us”.

I’ve got a question for the moonbat governor of Massachusetts: Why not go to Iran and try and open a non-Islamic church? How about trying it in the Taliban strongholds? Promise them a hug when they shoot you for being an infidel.

“MIRAN SHAH, Pakistan — Helicopter gunships and artillery on Tuesday bombarded two militant hideouts that had been used to launch attacks on security forces in a troubled tribal region near the Afghan border, the Pakistani army said.

Spokesman Maj. Gen. Waheed Arshad said forces targeted a pair of compounds in Daygan, a village about 10 miles west of North Waziristan’s main town of Miran Shah after receiving “credible intelligence that militants were present there.”

It appeared to be the army’s toughest military action in the lawless border region after a month of escalating violence, and came a day after foreign ministry spokeswoman Tasnim Aslam said Al Qaeda and the Taliban had no safe havens in the tribal zone.

Cobra helicopter gunships and artillery launched the attack early in the morning and it lasted about four hours, Arshad said. No ground forces were used in the assault, and there was no immediate word on militant casualties.

“The militants used to regroup and prepare attacks on security forces and take refuge at these compounds, so security forces targeted them,” Arshad told Dawn television, calling the compounds a “staging post.“[...]
