Algore is launching a campaign today to push Americans into reducing greenhouse gases. Details here. (It also ran in the local rag but I couldn’t find the MJS link.)

Now, as usual, Algore is all “do as I say, not as I do”. Unless he completely gives up flying on private jets, this is just another reason to ignore him. Come to think of it, he’s worth ignoring on everything.

I Blame Global Warming

Following in the spirit of the post, below, I blame the Packers loss tonight on Global Warming.

Hopefully, Numberwatch will pick this up and add it to his list.

Blame Everything on Global Warming

I happened to hear about theNumberwatch site on Rush today and it’s very interesting.

The site’s purpose is, according to the home page,

All about the scares, scams, junk, panics, and flummery cooked up by the media, politicians, bureaucrats, so-called scientists and others who try to confuse you with wrong numbers.

A more detailed explanation is on the first page entered on the site.

This site is devoted to the monitoring of the misleading numbers that rain down on us via the media. Whether they are generated by Single Issue Fanatics (SIFs), politicians, bureaucrats, quasi-scientists (junk, pseudo- or just bad), such numbers swamp the media, generating unnecessary alarm and panic. They are seized upon by media, hungry for eye-catching stories. There is a growing band of people whose livelihoods depend on creating and maintaining panic. There are also some who are trying to keep numbers away from your notice and others who hope that you will not make comparisons. Their stock in trade is the gratuitous lie. The aim here is to nail just a few of them.

Anyway, he has over 600 links to global warming. Be sure to read the essay, Global Warming as Religion. Here’s the final two paragraphs…any emphasis mine.

The human spirit is sick. It soared during the enlightenment of the eighteenth century. It flowered during the nineteenth. It beat off the tyrants of the twentieth century. Now, at an alarming rate, it is surrendering its freedoms to a concocted religion based on fraudulent science. Of course, it is not only science that has suffered in the overwhelming cultural downturn. The great artistic tradition has given way to displays of dead animals and soiled beds. In much of what passes for literature and drama, the expletives remain while the loftier aspirations of humanity are deleted. Entertainment is debased by displays of banality, cruelty and vacuous, groundless celebrity. It was science, however, that gave us lives of a length, comfort and healthiness that were unthought-of, even within human memory; a gift that is cold-bloodedly, but covertly, being denied to millions in poorer parts of the world. Extremists of the new religion regard humanity as an inconvenience or a pestilence that can be disposed of (not including themselves, of course).

Above all, science represented the triumph of humanity over the primitive superstitions that haunted our ancestors, a creation of pure reason, a monument to that evolutionary (or, if you prefer, God-given) miracle of the human brain. It is too valuable just to be tossed away like a used tissue. But who will speak for science when the barbarian is already inside the gate?

“The chairman of the House Energy and Commerce Committee this week announced a plan to fight global warming by reducing carbon emissions up to 80 percent by the year 2050. This would be done by raising gasoline taxes 50 cents per gallon and ending mortgage tax deductions on large houses, which the Michigan Democrat called “McMansions.”[...]

Of course, this comes from the guy who represents the auto industry and is under fire for from various enviro-whackos for NOT supporting increased gas mileage from the auto industry. Oh, and by the way, check out the pandering to the “net-roots nutballs” by Dingell.

I don’t know who’s more stupid. Dingell or the voters who keep re-electing him.

Too little, too late: Gore blames scientists for climate crisis

” In an extraordinary outburst aimed at America’s failure to tackle global warming, Al Gore says that if scientific agreement on the climate crisis had been reached sooner it would have been easier to “galvanise the public and persuade Congress to act”.

The failed presidential candidate claims that the stronger scientific consensus he knew was about to emerge meant “we in the US were about to shift into high gear in addressing the climate crisis”. Mr Gore argues that if he had made it to the White House, he would have been able to use the office as a “bully pulpit” to achieve change.

“The nature and severity of the climate crisis had seemed painfully obvious to me for quite a long time,” claims Mr Gore, writing in a new foreword to a revised edition of his book, Earth in the Balance, being published this week.”[...]

Naturally, Algore has to blame Bush for all of this.

[...]“Mr Gore accuses his nemesis, President George Bush, of having taken “virtually no steps to address the problem. Worse, he and Vice President Cheney have led the nation in precisely the wrong direction.”

He goes on to detail how the Bush administration reversed a pledge to regulate carbon dioxide as a pollutant, pulled out of negotiations on the Kyoto treaty and replaced key scientific advisers with ones suggested by oil giant ExxonMobil.“[...]

Once again Algore, with his inconvenient memory, forgets that under his watch as veep, the Kyoto protocol was defeated 99-1. Not a peep out of Algore then, was there.

You know, if Algore is so convinced of his stupidity theories, he should put his money where his mouth is.

He won’t of course. He’s gutless.

Wonder if Greenpeace or ELF Has the Guts to Protest

So, will Greenpeace, ELF and all the other global warming/environmentalist whackos be in Beijing protesting during the Olympics? I doubt it…but if they do, they probably won’t be heard from again.

Oh yeah, one other thing….I doubt China will be a big supporter of any type of Kyoto protocol. China should be invited to joint the G8 which would of course make it the “G9″. If nothing else, it would give the participants a venue to meet without protesters. Besides, you can’t keep the Chinese economy out of the mix.
