This Might Be Interesting

Posted by The Asian Badger on September 5, 2008

The Dead Grey Lady is reporting that the Nobama camp has reached out to Hillary to help counter Sarah Palin. Hillary, however has other plans.

ST. PAUL — Senator Barack Obama will increasingly lean on prominent Democratic women to undercut Gov. Sarah Palin and Senator John McCain, dispatching Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton to Florida on Monday and bolstering his plan to deploy female surrogates to battleground states, Obama advisers said Thursday.[...]

So the article goes on until the meat.

[...]“Advisers to Mrs. Clinton said that she stood ready to help the Obama-Biden ticket, but they urged the campaign not to overestimate the impact Mrs. Clinton could have, noting that she had other commitments this fall, like campaigning and raising money for Senate candidates. Obama aides said the Clinton trip had been in the works before Ms. Palin was named the running mate.”[...]

This means, “Yeah, if I have nothing better to do, I’ll see what my schedule looks like. Don’t call me, I’ll call you.”

I bet Billary votes for McCain/Palin. Any help the Clintons give Nobama will be tepid at best.

By the way, from the same article comes the following:

[...]“David Axelrod, the Obama campaign’s chief political strategist, said Mr. Obama would not raise questions about Ms. Palin’s experience. Mr. Axelrod said the campaign would work instead to impress upon voters the seriousness of the race and continue to try to link the McCain-Palin team to President Bush.”[...]

Proof that my blog tagline is right never ceases. Looks like the community organizer decided and Axelrod haven’t yet figured out that Bush isn’t running for re-election.

Cute Story

Posted by The Asian Badger on September 5, 2008

I was talking to a friend of mine’s little girl, and she said she
wanted to be President some day.

Both of her parents, liberal Democrats, were standing there, so I
asked her, ‘If you were President what would be the first thing you
would do?’

She replied, ‘I’d give food and houses to all the homeless people.’

‘Wow – what a worthy goal.’ I told her, ‘You don’t have to wait until
you’re President to do that. You can come over to my house and mow,
pull weeds, and sweep my yard, and I’ll pay you $50. Then I’ll take
you over to the grocery store where the homeless guy hangs out, and
you can give him the $50 to use toward food or a new house.’

She thought that over for a few seconds ’cause she’s only six. And
while her Mom glared at me, she looked me straight in the eye and
asked, ‘Why doesn’t the homeless guy come over and do the work, and
you can just pay him the $50?’

And I said, ‘Welcome to the Republican Party.’

Her folks still aren’t talking to me.

I can understand why.

The McCain Speech

Posted by The Asian Badger on September 5, 2008

For McCain, it was a very good speech. By that I mean, he’s not that good in front of a telemprompter. On Twitter we noted that we were longing for a Palin speech but McCain did as well as could be expected.

He made a few key points…choice, taxes, the obligatory swipes at the failures of the Nobama platform. I thought hearing about his POW experiences from him was good. Too many of us have just read about that terrible period in his life.

(As an aside, the narrative about his involvement in the rescue of pilots on the USS Forrestal clusterfuck was educational for me. I didn’t know he was on the carrier at that time.)

The finish came from the heart and defined McCain. I agree with that part of the speech completely. The fight is on to keep the libtards out of office and hopefully, to vote them out as quickly as possible.
