More on EAA 2008

Lots and lots of airplanes at the EAA. Of course, that’s why it’s the EAA.
In my previous post, I mentioned the F-22 Raptors. You can see a video of their arrival, here. I don’t know where the guy was standing, but it wasn’t too far from where Dad29 and I were standing. This was the second pass before touchdown. If you want to get a sense of the power of the aircraft, turn up the volume as loud as possible. It won’t come close, of course, but it will give you an idea of what it was like. Very Cool.
John Travolta was there as well but we didn’t see him. Travolta arrived in style piloting his own Boeing 707.
One of the highlights this year was a restored British Spitfire that I don’t recall seeing before. Here’s a shot.
One of the funniest things I saw this year was the description of an experimental with the basic info of the plane. The plane and info tag are below.
All in all, a very good time. No, I did not go back with an Amex card.
I got out cheap with a hat.

That Raptor video kicked ass. That pilot sure looked like he wanted to bust Mach.

@Steveegg…I’m pretty sure he did for a bit on the vid. They were damn close on the initial pass.
