Another Useless FIB
Posted by The Asian Badger on July 14, 2007
Another useless FIB has invaded our lives. Sadly, it’s not a Cubs fan, it’s the useless rookie Senator from Eau Claire, Kathleen Vinehout. Seems like she has no problem with the productive citizens of Wisconsin paying for her health insurance. Read about the useless FIB here.
Vinehout, a former professor of Health Science and her husband a former FIB legislator (why am I not surprised she’s been sucking at the trough her whole life?) wanted to be a farmer “since she was a little kid”.
[...] “But in 2005, Alma dairy farmer Kathleen Vinehout and her husband, Doug Kane, faced a tough decision: Should they pay $900 to $1,000 a month for their own family health insurance or to cover their farm expenses?
They went without the insurance. “It was very scary,” Vinehout said
It got scarier. Their 10-year-old son required an emergency appendectomy last fall, forcing the couple to take on debt to pay for the surgery.”[...]
Vinehout, 49, and her family went without health insurance for 23 months – a situation she says is not uncommon in rural areas of the state.
A few weeks before the election, Vinehout and Kane regretted that decision.
In September, Vinehout’s husband called from a hospital emergency room in Wabasha, Minn., where physicians said their son, Nathan, needed surgery to remove his appendix.
Did they want the expensive tests and surgery to be done?
Yes, heal Nathan.
Nathan had the surgery, and is fine. The hospital first billed them $15,000 but settled for about $10,000. His parents refinanced the farm’s mortgage to pay it.
When Vinehout tells the story now, her face reddens in anger at a health care system that leaves so many of her western Wisconsin neighbors without affordable insurance.“[...]
Happily, Ted Kanavas (R-Brookfield) spoke up for the rest of us.
[...]“Republican legislators can stop it from becoming law, and they have vowed to do just that. They call it a “socialist” plan and the biggest single tax increase in the history of Wisconsin.
“Senator Vinehout’s story is heartfelt,” said Republican Sen. Ted Kanavas of Brookfield. “But their plan is completely misguided. They’ve decided to blow up a health care system that is the best in the nation.”[...]
Guess what Vinehout? You got into business for yourself. It involves risk. Then, you had a decision to make (health insurance or no health insurance) and you fucked up. Naturally, given that you feel entitled, you now want socialism. Try this instead.
Figure out a way to pay for health insurance. You want to be in business for yourself? That’s part of the choice YOU made. Deal with it. I don’t see you complaining about the free health insurance you’re getting courtesy of the Wisconsin Taxpayers.
You make a salary off my back….why not pay for your own health insurance? Being the gutless hypocrite you are, you won’t, of course.
There’s something you need to learn since you were too stupid to figure it out before you and your husband decided to leave the salary paid by taxpayers. Life is full of choices, why should taxpayers pay for people who make the wrong ones?
Go back to Illinois and stay there. The only reason you ran for government is because you can’t hack it in the real (wage-earning) world. So naturally, you went back to the public trough. I’m sick of paying for people like you.
What a useless individual.

Geez, AB, why don’t you say what you REALLY think?
Looks to me like V. decided that the life in a mythical agrarian Valhallah was more in accord with her values than teaching in a college.
Only problem was she thought that the “myth” WAS Valhallah.
Big mistake.

Health Insurance is simply the agreement to pay other peoples medical bills until such time as you have your own medical expenses. I have no sympathy for individuals who have not paid a penny in support of others but suddenly want hard cash from strangers the moment financial hardship falls on them. College graduates who can’t figure out how to finance $15,000 just proves a piece of parchment does not make you smart.

Wow. Excellent idea. The Mr. keeps telling me if I want to do something expensive, like buy a Mercedes or go on a round the world cruise, I should get a job. I should run for office. I’d get to travel, on the taxpayer dime. I would get a pretty good salary, paid for by the taxpayer. I’d have excellent health care, on the taxpayer dime. Then, I’d get a pension too, if I stuck around and sucked at my job, just like the rest of those who keep sucking at the public teat!

Dad..if “death for the common good of America and/or Wisconsin” wasn’t punishable by “life without parole”, I would just do it. The only way to improve the gene pool is by…..well, never mind. It almost worked at Getteysburgh when we tried to improve the gene pool in Virginia.
